A rental vehicle is a necessity on Maui, since there is little public transportation. There are a variety of rental vehicles available, with economical weekly rates. Inquire for a quote.

Be certain to check the following when renting a car:

Age requirement of drivers. Most agencies have a minimum age of 25. Some will allow drivers between 21 and 25 subject to a surcharge.

The rental rate covers the basic rental of the vehicle ONLY, and does not include the 4.17% excise tax, the $2/day road toll, or collision insurance. There are usually charges for extra drivers and child seats. Check your insurance requirements before leaving home. Many personal auto policies or credit cards have coverage for rental cars. The car rental agencies definately PUSH their insurance programs, so be sure you know what you're covered for.

Regular - a few years older, run great - $229 per week

Maui Cruisers - for the economy minded windsurfer. The radio works, they'll get you where you need to go, but you won't win a beauty contest!! - $189 per week

Station Wagons - 1995 or 1996, with A/C, stereo. Racks on the roof! - $189 per week
